For example, one of the ads promoted the Twilly d’ Hermes girl perfume that took up two whole pages this is a common correlation with numerous of other brands in which are promoted in this magazine. These ads can be more fairly easy and focus primarily on their desired product they want to promote. In addition, Vogue features brands that you typically see at the malls but even then some of their advertisements products are very exclusive. Women and men have always been depicted differently throughout the years, it seems certain stereotypes of femininity and masculinity will always play an underlying role in why advertisements for gender-specific products are displayed and targeted towards viewers the way that they are. This is particularly true when looking at magazines. Society is constantly being reminded of the fact that the images shown to them in magazines are being altered and enhanced in order to highlight natural qualities of both the male and female genders. Women are made to look thinner in some areas while curvier in other areas, and men are made to look bulkier and more muscular in comparison to the women. The smooth style of the pastel ivory satin corset can be tracked back further than Hugh Hefner’s first cover image, ‘to Christian Dior's pioneering New Look silhouette from 47’ (Manning, 2015) ‘Similar pastel coloured satin uniforms sported by Hugh Hefner's squad of bunnies from his Playboy Club's original Chicago location, which opened its doors to key holders in 1960.’ (Manning, 2015) Also not only is the corset revolutionary but the Vanity Fair cover image itself. Caitlyn Jenner has an aura of femininity around her along with a classical idea of beauty. The vintage corset was paired with a high waist underwear, natural waves in her hair and the decision to not wear any tights. Her decision to not wear any tights shows off a body positive image as the muscles she previously had from her past sporting accomplishments were still there proving she is still the same person underneath just in a body which is more her own.…

Hannah is a model, therefore she is told how to pose, so it is not her fault for the provocative way in which she is sporting the bikini. While Sports Illustrated is trying to bite the bullet for her, and contracts are protecting her rights, it still must be tough receiving such an incredible opportunity and having it get torn to shreds by the public.…
