Firstly, the Science Fiction & Fantasy genre can be split into two sub genres as both contain elements that differ from each other. The Fantasy sub-genre can be defined as a genre which features elements of magic or the supernatural, frequently set in a different world or even our own. Where-as the Science Fiction sub-genre can be defined as a genre which is based on scientific discoveries or spectacular environmental changes, frequently set in the future or on other planets and involving space or time travel.
