Meaning a person most sacrifice and praying to be on the good side of goods of the gods. In such the mean to piety could be giving to the gods without expecting nothing from them. However, piety could also mean “asking and giving” (Plato 72); Suggesting that a person could ask something to the Gods and the Gods expecting something in return, like for example, a person could be asking for money, good health or a good life but most give or sacrifice something of similar value to the god to attain for what he/she desired from the gods. so in a way giving something that would please the gods and this result could be seen when Euthyphro agreed with Socrates when he said: “the right way of giving is given to them in return what they want of us” (Plato 73). Yet, piety could mean when is dear to gods and at the same time not beneficial to them, mean that if a person does ask for something to the gods and whatever gifts that was given to the god could be not beneficial or dear to them. Meaning that both man and gods could work together or make arrangement in what is be piety or impiety to them both. Also, in could an also mean in what men could sacrifice to the gods and at the sometimes what could be beneficial making piety because the gods find it pleasing to them. Yet, piety also means that what is loved by gods is good and at the same time what is dear to the gods could not be beneficial to them, making piety (good) or impiety (evil).
