Hi Benjamin. Your post is very sweet and straight to the point, yet it holds good opinions. I agree that there are different degrees of anti-Semitism; because some people may not show and express as much hatred towards Jews as others, and as you stated, some could possibly even reach the degree of killing Jews, similar to what Hitler did in the 1930’s. Although, I am hoping it never reaches to the extent of Hitler’s concentration camps. Referring to your second paragraph, I believe hatred towards others is taught, and not born within oneself, so I can see how it can be passed down through generations and therefore, expanding through the world.…
All throughout Jewish history, and even into the 21st century, Jews have been constantly fighting the battle against anti-Semitism. This has been a recurring hardship for Jews all around the world. The Nazi rise to power in Germany led to the prime example of anti-Semitism thus far, the development of the Final Solution. This was the plan to exterminate all of the Jewish people, and resulted in the death of six million Jews, two-thirds of Europe’s Jewish population. More than 70 years after this tragedy, scholars are still debating many aspects of the Holocaust.…
During the time of WW2 and the Holocaust, the British government demonstrated determination and persistence when they took action by creating a series of rescue efforts for Jewish children called Kindertransport. The British government knew that their rescue mission would be impossible on however their “persistent efforts of refuge aid committees” allowed 10,000 Jewish children to be safe. The British committee for the Jews of Germany and the Movement for the Care of children from Germany were determined to save the Jewish children from the inevitable situation for Jews by arranging escapes to Britain. The British government and refugee aid committees knew that they would not be able to save each and everyone in danger but they didn’t lose…
The term “degenerate” was coined during the Third Reich as a way to describe the physically, mentally, or socially unfit within Nazi Germany. The prime example of that comes to one’s mind is the exclusion and attempted extermination of the Jews during Hitler’s reign. Exclusion within Germany is not solely limited to members of the Jewish faith however. While it is true that the Jews were the most ostracized group during the Third Reich other so called “degenerates” such as the Sinti and Romas, homosexuals, physically and mentally handicapped were all persecuted alongside any other “asocial” Germans who did not conform to the new Nazi German Volk. In this paper I will delve into the ostracized groups and describe why they were persecuted and…

Anti-semitism, defined as hostility to or prejudice against Jews, was the most integral part of the Third Reich. Blaming Jewish people for various economic and national problems had been common in European culture for many, many years, and was made explicit in Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. Through Hitler's rule over Germany, anti-Semitism became a central part of German society. The Nazis aimed to purge the Jews from German life, which turned into the Final Solution. This is known as the Holocaust, which was the genocide of over 6 million Jewish people.…
When speaking on anti-Semitism the great despair.com describes the treatment perfectly when they say “the secret to success is knowing who to blame for your failures”. Throughout history, Jewish people have been the scapegoats for unexplainable social acts, like the disappearance of children, and the entire Jewish population is scapegoated, instead of the group, or person thought to cause it. However, in some documents the Jews are scapegoated for unexplained social issues, while others depict Jews blamed deliberately for political reasons. These documents illustrate how the entire Jewish population has been blamed for unexplainable social problems, as well as the scapegoats for political issues, this scapegoating has stemmed to blaming for…
Anti-Semitism is the practice of hating and being hostile against Jewish people. Merriam webster's definition of anti semitism is “hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group” (M-W). Anti semitism has a very dark and ugly past. Anti- semitism dates back as far as Jewish History. Jews who originated in the ancient kingdom of Judah were often criticized and persecuted because of their efforts to remain a separate cultural group.…
Its biting organic product comes from mental, political, and religious roots. Whatever the reasons, this scourge has tormented mankind for quite a long time. In spite of the fact that the term against Semitism was just as of late authored in 1879 by the German fomenter, Wilhelm Marr, it was soon connected to all types of antagonistic vibe toward Jews all through history.1 Its genesis and lineage retreat several years prior to the BC. Purported Christian hostile to Semitism is predated by scorn of Jews among people of yore. One definitive Jewish source precisely mirrors these against Semitic beginnings, Anti-Jewish bias showed up in ancient times fundamentally in nations which later turned out to be a piece of the Roman Empire.…
The Meriam-Webster dictionary defines anti-Semitism as: hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group. Anti-Semitism and violence against individuals practicing Judaism has been present in society with an early example being the Rhineland massacre in 1096. However, when individuals in 2016 discuss anti-Semitism they immediately think of the Holocaust. That is why when reading the article about the rabbi in Ottawa finding a swastika and a Jewish slur on her door will view the perpetrator as being deviant. The perpetrator is deviant in two ways.…
Anti-Semitism is hatred against the Jews. The Nazis used many things to show that they hated the Jews. One way was by spreading propaganda and talking about things that the Jews did that weren’t even true. Most of these things the Jews were spreading around were mostly negative. Antisemitism was a way for the Nazis to show their hatred against the Jews.…
Both often used many forms of propaganda and censoring of the press to manipulate the thoughts of those around them. Hitler’s use of propaganda was most frequently used to degrade the Jewish people, but it was also used to promote the Nazi Party and Hitler himself. This was achieved through the creation of posters, books, music, theater, art and film. All of the propaganda was centered around spreading the Nazi’s anti-Jewish and nationalistic messages and creating an air of acceptance throughout the German people towards these messages, in particular the more extreme beliefs towards the Jewish people. The propaganda depicted the Nazi Party as “restoring order” in Germany and created the illusion that the increasingly harsher measures being taken towards the Jewish population were necessary.…
Antisemitism is a form of racism against Jews and may take in the form as prejudicial attitudes and practices aimed at those who practice Judaism or who identify as Jewish. It has been present for over some two thousand years, with “The Holocaust, the state-sponsored persecution and murder of European Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators between 1933 and 1945, is history’s most extreme example of antisemitism” (“Antisemitism”, n.d). The word Antisemite was a widely accepted term that was formed in Germany in 1879. Although the root word is “semite”, antisemitism was never directed at all Semitic people. It was actually the scientific way of saying Judenhass (Jew-hatred) in German.…
On April 11, 1944, Holocaust victim Anne Frank wrote, "Who knows -- it might even be our religion from which the world and all peoples learn good, and for that reason and that reason alone do we now suffer.” Antisemitism is the discrimination of Jewish people. The earliest recorded act of antisemitism dates back to the 3rd century B.C.E. when the Greco-Egyptian historian Manetho said that Jews were expelled from Egypt. Throughout the years, Jews have been driven out of more than 80 countries including Arabia, France, Spain, Sicily, Lithuania, Portugal, Italy, Bavaria, Naples, Vienna, Poland, Germany, and Russia. The most prominent act of antisemitism most people know of today is the Holocaust that started from 1933 and ended 12 years later.…
