Where were these pyramids built. The three pyramids were built in El Giza, Egypt. This area is also known as the Giza Plateau. The pyramids of Giza were built almost perfectly in line with the three stars in Orion's Belt (the constellation). The corners of each pyramid are also aligned with the cardinal points on a compass.

The pyramids were built as tombs for Pharaohs, and a storage vault for their valuables. As the oldest wonders of the world, the three Giza pyramids stand tall in Egypt.
