George Carlin, a Grammy winning actor and comedian once said," the owners of this country know the truth ....it's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it." American is built on can do attitudes, million dollar ideas and a dream everyone has but so few are able to obtain.This dream is different for everyone, but for everyone it includes acquiring some form of success. The United States is known for being able to make that dream a reality. In America many believe to fulfill your dream all you need is hard work and dedication. People in America all want different things, whether they want to be a business owner or pop star every dream is different and unique for each person. All dreams are based of the deep love of something people do or wish to do. While working on ranches George,a middle aged rancher and Lennie, a mentally challenged oblivious man, have seperate but equally important dreams.In the book, George’s dream is to keep Lennie safe and find a place for just the both of them. He declares “We’re gonna have a little house and a couple of acres and a cow and some pigs. …(p.14).” This is George’s dream, to live on a ranch with Lennie and live without a care. Lennie’s dream is different than George’s. He just wants to take care of rabbits on the ranch George dreams of.
