Vomiting occurs when stomach contents are thrown up and out the mouth. Vomiting is different than spitting up. It is more forceful and contains more than a few spoonfuls of stomach contents. Vomiting can make your infant feel weak and dehydrated. Dehydration can make your infant tired and thirsty, have a dry mouth, and urinate less frequently. It is important to treat your infant's vomiting as directed by your infant's health care provider.
