In the book the only people that have flashbacks are : Thomas, Aris, and Teresa, whereas in the movie only Thomas has flashbacks. Now this is due to the fact that before the trio were sent into doing all the mazes, and tests they were the ones to come up with all these tests to cure the flare, which is a disease obtained from the sun flare that happened years ago, which scorched every place on the planet (that we know of). Those who happened to have the flare for a long time will turn into something similar to a “zombie” except these guys don’t want brains they just want you dead. In the book the flashbacks that occur mainly for Thomas dictate how most of them in their current situation are in this mess, but only small pieces of memories, or dreams will occur for Thomas every once in awhile. Whereas, in the movie, Thomas doesn’t have a dream, or memory flashback at all in the entirety of the film, this is something that is kinda big in the Maze Runner series, because without it, it doesn’t explain to the viewers, or readers how did they get there in the first place? Other than W.I.C.K.E.D. being mean and just placing them just for
