Ernesto Miranda was born March 9, 1941 in Columbus, Arizona. It appears Miranda had a very troubled childhood: “Miranda’s mother apparently died when he was very young (around age 6)” (Blevins). Shortly after Ernesto’s mother died Miranda father reamarried. This ultimately led to Miranda not being very close to his family, he kept a fair distance from his brothers and stepmom.When he was in the eighth grade Miranda have committed multiple crimes. He already had a criminal conviction for what appears to have been a felony burglary. After he committed the felony he was transferred to a reform school for 1 year (Arizona State Industrial School for Boys (ASISB). Shortly after he was released, Miranda was again arrested. After his second release he relocated to Los Angeles. Miranda was soon to be found again with sexual and armored charges against him and arrested, but he was not convicted. …show more content…
