1 Photosynthesis and Respiration are some of the most important processes of life. Without these two there is no life. Photosynthesis is a process where plants can synthesize starch and other carbohydrates using things like light from the sun, water that is from the soil, carbon dioxide, and the chlorophylls. Chlorophyll is green pigment that is in plants. Energy and oxygen for living organisms comes from the process photosynthesis.
