Today’s sports fan will argue that football is Americas past time. For years baseball has been Americas favorite past time since the sport started in the late eighteen hundreds. One of the main reasons baseball has become second to football is because a lot of superstars in baseball have lied about taking or knowing any more involved with steroids. Superstars in baseball that hold the all-time records are linked to steroids like Barry Bonds, which holds the all-time records for the most home runs, Roger Clemons, one of the Best pitchers of all time , and Alex Rodriguez who is one of the fastest players to ever reach over five hundred home runs. So far football has kept a better image than baseball by enforcing stricter rules and informing players about things they must do such as, change the duration of the season, make stiffer rules consequences for people who break rules, and change the way the playoff system is structured by permitting more teams to play in the playoffs. Allowing long seasons in some sports makes the sport less appealing then the sports with shorter seasons. Playing fewer games would mean that the margin for error is small. Single elimination playoff systems always have fans on the edge of their seats because they know both teams that are participating would give their all. During a long seven game series, some players might not give it their all knowing that they would have more chances to win the series. I understand why baseball has the current format from a business aspect of having more games to generate more capital, but at the same time if you have teams included in the playoffs more people would watch. In conclusion, having a single game elimination playoff would be more appealing to the general public than a seven game series would
