First of all, my life in Cuba was full of disappointments decorated with just a few joys. It is well known that Cuba is a communist country with very narrow economic, political, and religious judgments. Since the opinions my family has had about these three aspects was not what the Cuban government expected, our life over there turned into a very difficult one affecting even our ability to enjoy of necessary things such as education for my parents, my brother and me, and higher paying jobs. I always knew this is a big country full of opportunities for anybody who is willing to learn how to live here and follow its rules. That is why I rapidly realized I have to take advantages of those opportunities if I want to win the battle of life. Consequently, now that I am young and anything can stop me, I am trying to learn as much as I can. As a result, I finally finish my high School, and I am attending college right now. This amazing country has also given me a chance to grow economically. I found a job in which I make every month the money I need to pay my rent, my car, my credit card, and I even have leftovers that can move to my saving account. Another contrast, I have found between the two countries is that everybody respects my religious ideas here. I have not found a single person who discriminates me for being Jehovah Witness which was very different in Cuba, where they did not even let me go to high school due to my religion.
