1. What leadership experiences and skills do you have that make you the best addition to the Commerce Kids executive?
I enjoy working with children and I believe I have the skills that best addition to the Commerce Kids executive. I see this Committee inspiring as it provides children lessons and enjoyment that further allow them to grow.
I have grown up in a family of 5; I have an older sister and a younger brother. Since I was little, I have learned the importance of seeking in a different perspective and taking care of young child. As my brother and I have age gap of four years, I had to often take care of him. By this, I learned to look at the situation in his perspective before scolding him. In addition, I recognized …show more content…
I was then assigned a table to seat in and immediately after, another activity for the event began. I believe the children will have a better experience if they were to have a connection with the volunteer or even a milestone that will bring their curiosity of the volunteers. An initiative we could implement to improve and maintain connectivity between the executive and the volunteer throughout the semester is have a luncheon, dinner, or social together.
A luncheon or dinner could be anywhere like Boston Pizza or The Works. However, executive must sit separately between the volunteers when sitting in a table. By this, all the volunteers would have a chance to ask questions to executives and have conversations with them.
Social could be a potluck with everyone. This will be done after we have gotten to know each other a little bit. By having this in a house with no set of chairs, I believe it will be a great opportunity for executives and volunteers to interact with each other.
In order to create a connectivity, I believe we have to build a relationship with the volunteers. Thus, as volunteers and executive build a relationship outside of Commerce Kids events, I believe we could improve the connectivity. Furthermore, volunteers will be more motivated in their work/positions as they will feel more included in the
