I love doing charity work with groups I believe in because I know I’m making a difference in the long run, if just one person is saved or helped because of my work then it will be worth it. It’s made me want to make a career of helping people, of doing something for the organizations I believe from the inside. I want to become a Public Relations representative for a nonprofit and if I can’t then I want to work for a company that actively donates and participates in charity. I’ve always wanted to work in advertising and working for something meaningful seems like a necessity for me at this point. Even if my event is relatively small in the grand scheme of things there is still quite a hefty number of minute details to make sure the event even gets off the ground. We must drum up interest from the school while year round checking in on them to make sure they meet the guideline by the event. Then we must focus on sponsorship for our event as well as donations. Planning the actual event, registering teams, keeping team captains updated, and having committee meetings where we delegate jobs and share ideas. The Relay is always at the back of my mind, thinking about what to do next. I feel so strongly about my event as if it’s my baby which is why I keep pushing and trying to make it better and better each year. I will continue to do this for my college Relay and my community Relay after I graduate because I plan to be on the planning committee for those as well. I love Relay and I want to make any event I’m apart of to be as amazing as I can humanly make
