Compare to Black and White Americans, White Americans would tend to collapse when exposed to disreputable practices. Black and White Americans have a different prejudice that affects different cognitive impairment: “Cognitive impairment was more pronounced when an in-group member was being evaluated by an out-group member than when an out-group member was being evaluated by an in-group member” (Salvatore & Shelton, 2007). The research indicates that White Americans could not handle blatant prejudice, because they were not adaptive to experience the target group of prejudice. On the other hand, Black American’s results showed that their cognitive impairment results higher when expose to ambiguous prejudice: “Furthermore, because of the relatively, ambiguous nature of contemporary expressions of prejudice, the implications of the finding that ambiguous prejudice depletes cognitive functioning for member of traditionally disadvantaged groups are potentially widespread” (Salvatore & Shelton, …show more content…
Black Americans having to fight with racial prejudice was very common in every country; however, the country that I came from never expected that White Americans is also suffering from racial prejudice as well. This study was focusing that effect of cognitive impairment during the job interview; however, the cognitive damage after the getting the job can be predicts higher level. Therefore, in my point of view, instead of doing a research after getting the job would provide further evidences of cognitive impairment. Other those, the research is remarkable and it provided a lot variable information, it made me wonder if there was further explanation would have been easier to understand the study. It contained the scientific research and method; however, understanding the actual research is little difficult. In addition, if the research actually showed scientific evidence of which part of the brain function would be damaged can be an idea of development as well.
