Cognitive behavior therapy has been part of my life, because three years ago my sister was diagnosed with social anxiety. She become a mother at a young age, she isolated herself in her room. She knew that her anxiety, thoughts and fears where irrational and unfounded. She realize that it is angst and terror that she was experiencing. But despite this logical knowledge and sense, she still continued to feel and believe differently, thus, thoughts and symptoms of anxiety usually persist with no indication going away. CBT reflects my personal beliefs, because I knew the theory would helped my sister modify her own negative beliefs and helped her engage in social interactions that she tended to avoid.
