I believe that Cloning violates the deepest principles of humanity and nature for many reason. Cloning has a low success rate, the clone won’t identical to the human or animal are the reasons why humans shouldn’t clone and clones can dies earlier than their normal life span. The articles“Cloning Overview” by by Courtney Farrell and “Counterpoint- Human Cloning Treats Human Life as a Commodity” by Sally Griswold talk about the cloning and why it’s good or bad. First, cloning as a low success rate. In the article “Cloning Overview” it talks about cloning not working all the time. The text says “Currently cloning has a very low success rate, and failed attempts produce stillborn, malformed or sickly offspring”(Farrell). This quotes …show more content…
A clone is an copy of something containing the same DNA. Creating clones takes a process and producing one that is sickly or has a malfunction is a waste of time and money. Also, the clone might have to suffer though many things just to live because it was born with problems. Next, clones won’t be identical to what it is cloned from. Clones are supposed to be exact copies and if they don’t look alike they aren’t exact copies even though they have the same DNA. The article by Sally Griswold talks about the reasons why people shouldn’t clone. The article states “However, contrary to what many people believe a clone will not necessarily display the same characteristics as the DNA donor”(Discol). This quotes shows that a clone of something might not have the same characteristics. In a real life situation, if someone wants to clone their dog because they just love their dogs personality, the clone might not even be similar to what someone wanted it to be like. Wasting about one hundred thousand dollars on a clone can be wasteful if the person doesn’t like their clone. Cloning something can be different than what someone would have expected. Finally, clones might die early than normal. For example, the first clone Dolly the sheep only lived for six years which is half of
