Classical conditioning is learning to associate two stimuli and thus to anticipate events. If Mrs. Jones can use classical conditioning to get her children to clean up. By counting down to twenty, they will know that they need to clean up quickly.
Reinforcement schedules decide when a reinforcement is put into place. I think that the teacher should use a fixed-interval schedule. A fixed-interval schedule is when reinforcement occurs after a predetermined time has elapsed. Mrs. Jones can use observational learning to get her students to be respectful and share. Through seeing other people do it, they will be more inclined to do the same. This in turn creates a more friendly and safe environment for the kids.
Learned helplessness is when one believes that their actions have no effect on the environment. This can lead to depression and lack of motivation. If students Mrs. Jones’ class are experiencing learned helplessness, she should motivate them and provide them with the extra help they need, so that not only are they confident in the material, but themselves.
