As I stood there doing nothing I noticed that hardly anyone noticed or reacted to my presence. Other than two quick and puzzled glances from two people passing by there was no noticeable reactions. People simply continued on with their businesses. Those walking alone were either on their phones or were moving in a rush. The first of these was that it seemed like nobody cared. I was expecting people to give me bizarre looks or even to come up to me and either say or do something. Another thing that I found to be surprising was how weird I felt doing the experiment. It was extremely difficult and awkward standing there doing nothing, I wanted to start moving around and fidgeting. Additionally, I was very tempted to reach into my pocket for my phone. I was desperate for something to do and the phone seemed like a great escape. However, as uncomfortable as I was I managed to leave my phone in my pocket. Another thing that I noticed was that time felt slower. It did not feel like I was standing there for ten minutes, it seemed like I had been there an extensive amount of time.
After the experiment was done, I made two general conclusions about society. The first being that society always wants you to be doing something. I made this conclusion based on how I awkward and out of place I felt not doing anything. The second observation that I drew from my observations is that society is always on the move. To put it in other words, no one pays much attention to what goes on. This conclusion maybe entirely from my perspective but, it seemed like everyone was caught up in their own little world not caring or even noticing everything else. All in all, the experiment although strange was truly eye-opening and
