Chrysler’s observable artifacts are under new constructions. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Sergio Marchionne is changing the atmosphere of the company. No longer will the company be identified with huge discounts and methods which assisted the company into bankruptcy. He is reorganizing the culture of the company. The past practice working environment that caused the company to go into bankruptcy is being replace with new ideas. Mr. Marchionne has removed several veteran executives to reduce the administration and induce fear into other executives.
Mr. Marchionne felt as the company’s values required adjusting. The espoused values of Chrysler included heavy rebates and other incentives to increase sales. He believes when you give

By interviewing his executive staff in 15 minute intervals over a couple of days, he decided which staff members to keep and which executives that did not align with his new culture for the company. This action reduced resistance to new implementation at the company. Mr. Marchionne changed Chrysler’s past work culture into a new fast pace, high performance and profitable company.
Market culture values control. Mr. Marchionne displays control by enforcing fear into his staff. Chrysler allied with FIAT to produce a new line of cars to attract customers. A strategic plan was outline by Mr. Marchionne to turn the company around. This plan assist with Chrysler’s sales increasing and in 2011 the company provided the stockholders with profits. Chrysler new work culture aligns with the market culture. The company is driven by quality of their product, productivity, pricing and productivity. An alliance was created with another company to strengthen and improve performance at Chrysler. Fear was Mr. Marchionne control. The executive staff and Mr. Marchionne had weekly meeting to discuss new ideas and designs. Abiding by the strategic plan that was developed by the CEO the company was able to deliver the desired results with an effective outcome toward their goals. Productivity improved and so did the quality of product. Profits became a reality for the shareholders and the company took on the identity of its leader. The company does not invest into their employees. The style ensures results, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

My recommendation to Machionne would be empower your employees and remove the Autocratic Leadership. When you value your employee’s opinion and ask their thoughts regarding the place of employment you will find innovative ideas. This will change the culture of the company quickly.
Effective communication, accountability and active listening will take management far on exciting new ways to improve customer service and increase productivity. This will change will change the work dynamics. Employees are the first line for fostering creativity and think of more effective ways to
