In “Chrysanthemums” the story is based on a main character named Eliza. Eliza is married to a kid hearted man who provides her with the necessities of life. She is married but has no children yet she has a very caring husband who always takes care of her. However, she has not been able to conceive a child. While Eliza was working in the chrysanthemums garden a traveler showed up who sells items and repairs things. The traveler lured Eliza into thinking that he cares about her chrysanthemums by telling her “Look I know a lady down the …show more content…
In “Chrysanthemum”, Elisa got affected from the traveler that made her realized where she stands and rank in the society, but she could not do anything to change the situation. She knew that her position in life could not change until society changed. As for “A Doll’s House”, Nora changes everything by leaving the house and trying to find her path. She educates herself on the rules and laws of the government. She realizes she is not a victim anymore and has the ability to create change. As it can be seen both of these stories show great examples of women who are oppressed during their time and desire to be free. Reading both these stories has shown me how lucky I am to have been born into a time where woman have more rights and are continuing to strive for
