Chronicles Of Prydain Book Report

The book that I am reading is called, "The Book of Three" in the series of "The Chronicles of Prydain" By Lloyd Alexander. When I first started reading the book, my reaction was surprised, because I never thought that there would be a book that fitted my likings. When I saw the book on the library shelf, I thought, "Hey why not just give it a try!" so that's what I did. The book itself was visually appealing, with bright colors and warm scenery with a luscious forest scene with the Horned King (the main antagonist in the story) on a horse searching for Taran (the main protagonist).

One thing I noticed immediately when I started to read the book is that the main character, Taran, has absolutely no idea of what he has to do, but luckily

Joshua Reid brings about the history of the People of the Cape, who came to be known as the Makah, through an aquatic voyage. The Makah’s culture and identities were shaped off of the reliance on the marine habitat. The indigenous people were located in the Northwest Coast where waters had abundant marine life and natural wealth, which attracted many Native and non-Native people. Reid explains the Makah’s troubles with the borderlands and their practices to control the seas and resources as the Europeans and Americans arrived. Chapter one explores the borderland and indigenous, marine characteristics.…

The novel is well rounded, but only falls short due to the accidental mistakes made by the author. Nonetheless, the fact that the book is followed by several sequels ultimately provides the possibility that the author fixes the issues within the next installments. However, despite being a well rounded novel the book at times is dragged out with unnecessary additional words where the author attempts to further describe her point. The reader at times will have to re-read several passages to understand the repetitive word choice and will have to overcome the lack of suspense within the novel’s key…

Throughout this entire novel, the reader is introduced to a multitude of characters, as well as many different parts of the plot. The novel continued to focus on the main characters from the first book of the series, American Assassin, but it also introduced many new characters that are very pertinent to the plot. At first, it is a lot to handle and gets very confusing trying to juggle all of the characters and remember their specific roles and characteristics throughout the story. As the reader progresses through the novel, it becomes more clear how all of the characters come together in the main plot of the story, but midway through the novel I became disinterested because of confusion regarding the characters. All of the pieces to the puzzle come together very suddenly towards the end of the book, and the action returns and captivates the reader once again.…

The three-time U.S. track and field Olympian, Gail Devers once stated, “Sometimes we fall, sometimes we stumble, but we can’t stay down. We can’t allow life to beat us down. Everything happens for a reason, and it builds character in us, and it tells us what we are about and how strong we really are when we didn’t think we could be that strong.” In the nonfiction book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, the courageous Louis Zamperini emulated with Devers words when, even in times of hopelessness and doubt, he survived a World War II bomber plane crash into the great Pacific, where he was left and considered dead for 47 days. To say the least, Louie’s resilient and courageous personality kept him alive and sane throughout the dire situations…

I like the author’s writing style because it’s complex, but simple. I also like how the author’s pen name is a Lorien Elder in the story which I find clever because it makes me wonder if he’s alive because on every book jacket for the Author’s Bio, it says “Pittacus Lore is Lorien's ruling Elder. He had been on Earth preparing for the war that will decide Earth's fate. His whereabouts are unknown.” What I don’t like is the suspense at the end of the book, I like the suspense, but I always try to guess who dies or what happens, it makes my mind races with possibility.…

Brian's Hunt The reason I choose this Brian’s Hunt book is because of the illustration and the cover is relatively interesting to me. The book is authored by Gary Paulsen and published in 2003. As the main character, Brian Robeson had a plane accident when he was 14 years old. After two years, he doesn’t want to live in a busy city, but he wants to live in the wilderness of Canada, where it had so many trees and wild animals with an adventurous life.…

Why do young people feel the need to belong to a certain group, configure themselves to fit the expectations of society, and follow their group like a lamb to a slaughter? These questions can take form while reading the Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. This story centers around the conflict of two gangs, the Greasers, and the Soc’s. The Greasers are lower class troublemakers who put a lot of greases in their hair, and like to jump people. The Soc’s are a high class society of rich spoiled teenagers who enjoy picking on Greasers.…
