Educational Background:

In the past, I took a writing course through Christian Writers Guild. Currently, I am enrolled in their Writing for the Inspirational Market class.

While employed by Development Dimensions International (DDI), a training and development firm, I certified as a trainer for the Interaction Management and Targeted Selection programs, which taught supervisors how to better manage and lead a team, and developed skills for hiring and promoting personnel respectively.

I organized and helped conduct assessment centers for various clients to assist them in their hiring, promoting, and future staffing needs. At the completion of the assessment center, I submitted extensive follow up reports to the client.

As my senior year approached, I imagined it would be difficult to choose what I wanted to major in. Interestingly, this perplexing question was already a part of my everyday life- I simply needed to look closely enough. When this question arose, I was a junior who spent the vast majority of her time binge watching YouTube videos, and wasting time online. Regardless, I still let this decision stay in the back of my mind during my leisure time. I asked myself this question: “What is that one thing that you do all the time, that you cannot see your life without?”…

In the first chapter, Putnam argues that the US, a melting pot of religions, remains whole because Americans interact with and are close to people with different upbringings. Through “Faith Matters Surveys,” valuable data on religiosity has been gathered. One point that stood out to me was when the author explained how sometimes “[religious] intensity actually matters more than flavor” (21). While it makes sense that those who share faith could form a bond, it might be one of the only things they have in common. However, I agree with Putnam.…

Throughout my academic career, I have taken and been successful in a large number of English classes. In high school, my writing followed an academic format, mostly writing towards a prompt. Similarly, when I started college I practiced different forms of academic writing, structured around a prompt and focused on the end goal of a good grade. However, in college I was able to start gaining useful feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of my writing that I could apply to later assignments.…
