Let’s take out our homework from last class. How many of you practiced using chopsticks? Who would like to show us?
I’m glad some of you learned how to use chopsticks. Our Jing Si Aphorism says “Do everything with a willing heart and accept the results readily. The more effort you put in, the more skills you will gain.”
Just like learning how to use the chopsticks, to learn a new skill, you need to put in hard work.
Now I’m going to show a video of someone who believes that even with talent, we still need to work hard.

Then attach the toy basketball hoop on the board 4. Using Benoit Benjamin Problems, ask students how they would coach Benoit to be better. Use the following as an example.
a. Benoit said, “I brought two left shoes.” How would you coach him? What could he have brought instead?
5. After students answer the question, ask the student to shoot the basketball into the hoop. If the student makes the shot, Benoit can be moved to the next number. If the student misses, go onto the next problem and ask another student to answer the question.
6. Repeat until Benoit reaches the number 5.
Instructions for students:
1. The board game will be played as a class. One student will come up to the board game at a time.
2. You will be asked questions to help coach Benoit to be better.
3. If you answer the question correctly, you can shoot the basketball into the hoop. If you make it, you can move Benoit to the number 2. The goal is to have Benoit get to number 5.
