Register to read the introduction… I am not really sure what it was, being that I was so young, that made my mom and dad take the initiative to finally find their set careers. I knew it was something that they always wanted to do, but between raising three kids, and working their other jobs, the time and financial situation was not compatible with what they wanted to do. I remember overhearing my parents having discussions about financial problems, or jobs, but my brothers and I never saw them give up. As I got older I was more aware of what was going on because I actually started to understand everything. Eventually my mother got her teachers certification and is working in a school, my father got his smog license (he has always loved working on cars), and owns his own smog shop. I think now that I am a “young adult” handling my own financial situations, and schooling I understand why my parents never gave up… it was for my brothers and I. Everything they did, the struggles they went through, the various jobs that they took, it was for us, so that way we can have our own futures and …show more content…
Being from a completely different country and being on their own, my parents had to really stay strong; they carried some values of the new American culture and rejected others to keep their own. As I was growing up it would be difficult sometimes to relate to my parents because of their traditional values that stuck with them. This effects me now because being born and raised in America versus Egypt, I do have traditional American values as well. Not always agreeing with them in things that they thought were right and wrong. Regardless of the two different views, I believe that my culture and background will always be within …show more content…
So my roots and ancestry continues to follow me, and my future off springs. To remain true to myself and those around me; seeing my parents hard work and dedication in everything they did makes me want to better myself, and never give up in anything that I partake in. Although I have not experienced everything I will always look back at their hard work and remember not to ever give up. My parents have touched my life in the best way possible. Till this day they have been and always will be my inspiration for everything that I do and want to do, after everything that they have done for my brothers and I, five ten years from now I want to be able to see them relaxing and not having to worry about a thing, because their hard work paid off. I will always carry the values that they have taught me as a child, because seeing them work so hard encourages me to carry on in life, I was taught I can be anything and do anything if I put my best foot forward, and that is what I continue to

Through this perspective, I was able to come to the conclusion that if there's one thing I have as much skill as I have a love for, it's medicine and no matter the salary, there's nothing I'd rather be payed to do. Not only do I view this realization as a successful point in my life, but I intend to put in all the hard work necessary to pursue this passion and further fulfill my own definition of success. While success may be something you acquire as an individual, I also personally believe all those that play a role in your daily routine affect this accomplishment. They both came to the United States looking for what most people come to the United States for ‘The American Dream’, they wanted a place where they could raise their children and find a stable job.…
