The CBCL checklist is used with children aged 6 to 18. The checklist contains 113 questions, and is scored on a three-point Likert scale, such as, (0= absent, 1= occurs sometimes, 2= occurs often). It is stated that in 2001, there were options added for multicultural norms that allowed scale scores to be displayed in relation to different sets of cultural/societal norms (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, 2009). Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) states that the CBCL checklist is appropriate for youth the ages of 6 to 18 years of age (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, 2009). The checklist is available in many formats. The two main formats for the checklists are self-administered and can be completed in paper-and-pencil or on the computer (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, 2009). They also state that if an individual is low in literacy that it can also be given out verbally (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, 2009). The CASL assessment consists of 15 tests that measure comprehension, expression, and retrieval in four language categories (Pearson Education, 2015). The 4 languages that the assessment focuses on is lexical, which helps assess knowledge and the use of words and word combinations. syntactic, helps assess knowledge and the use of grammar. Thirdly there is supralinguistic, which helps measure the child’s comprehension of complex language. And lastly pragmatic, this helps measure the awareness of appropriate language in a situational context (Pearson Education, 2015). The purpose of this assessment is to help assist speech/language pathologists, early childhood specialists, psychologists, and other professionals in measuring oral language knowledge and processing skills in preschoolers through young adults (3 to 21 years of age) (Pearson Education, 2015). The CASL assessment can help in assisting professionals and educators in understanding the bond between a person's ability scores and any delays or disorders in language (Pearson Education, 2015). With this assessment and the tests that are being done it can help professionals form hypotheses about the child’s and adolescents language processing abilities. The CASL assessment also
