Since a very young age, I have had an interest in, and enjoyed caring for others when they are sick or injured. During my Freshman year of high school, I began to realize that the medical field was my calling. I was not sure what area of study I wanted to pursue a career in, but I knew that I had an affinity for the sciences and the medical field. It wasn't until two years later, my Junior year, that radiography became the area of the medical field that I knew I wanted to concentrate on. I have been a cheerleader since third grade. In junior high, I began my journey in competitive cheerleading. This sport requires hours of dedication. With the long hours of practice, stunting and tumbling, I've had my fair share of bumps, bruises, and broken bones. On many different occasions, I have had to be taken to the emergency room for an examination and X-rays. The technicians were always so kind, and really seemed to care for each of their patients. I enjoyed watching the radiologist maneuver the many pieces of machinery. Being at the hospital, in the radiology department, made me realize how much I have to learn. I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be able to pursue a career in this occupational field. I am a very determined individual. When I set my mind to something, I strive to achieve it. I am focused, and I always give and do my best. I would be honored to be accepted into the Medical Radiography program at Eastern Maine Community College. I not only look forward to what I can gain from Eastern Maine Community College, I am also looking forward to what I have to offer

I began to ask over and over again if I could still try out, no one knew how badly I wanted to be on the Varsity team even with my leg completely discombobulated. The trainer told me I’d be fine and recover in enough time , which I later found out he was just saying so I could stay calm, but the truth was my leg wouldn’t fully be healed for months. My movie shows the struggle of pushing cheerleading to become recognized as a sport, and lists the reasons of why it should be. As a cheerleader, many times, I have had to have this argument with other athletes in order to prove the hard work, passion, and dedication that is required of this sport. This is why I chose to make it into a movie, so that I could persuade others into agreeing with me. The audience that I am reaching to with this method of justification will be mostly children and teens that are against cheerleading simply because they do not understand it. For many years, we cheerleaders have found ourselves in constant disputes with our peers and NCAA, discussing whether cheerleading should be considered an official sport or not.…
