One of the best moments in this book is when some of the Selected suitors invite Eadlyn to play a game of baseball with them. The royal family, including her three brothers, also join in on the game. Everyone is ecstatic and laughing, as the scene is described as, “for just one moment we were happy. My family and friends swarmed around me, laughing and clapping and enjoying the sun. It was a bubble of pure joy” (322). Eadlyn is without a care in the world during this moment, making her feel joyous, as she is usually burdened and stressed by the tasks she must do as a princess. It’s nice to be carefree once in a while and not worry about anything. One of the worst parts of the book is when Eadlyns mother, America, has a heart attack. This is the worst part because I have grown on America since the first book of the original Selection series, The Selection. Her family is mourning at the possibility of losing America. Eadlyn breaks down crying when she hears her father “unabashedly crying, and [she] had never heard such a painful sound” (339). Eadlyn is overwhelmed at the sight of her father sobbing, and she realizes how much love her father holds for her mother, and hopes she might have a chance at finding someone who cares for her like her father cares for her …show more content…
Yes, I recommend this book because it is lighthearted and carefree. Although, I have to admit that this book is not one of Cass’s best works, it still is a book I enjoyed reading. I recommend this book to anyone who likes watching The Bachelor or the Bachelorette because the concept and plot of this book is similar, with many competing for the heart of one. I also recommend this book to those who like reading romance novels, because this book is full of romance. I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn't like reading light hearted books, or romance books, because most of The Heir revolves around these two
