If Lady Macbeth Was Not a Factor Within the story of Macbeth, there are many characters that had an influence on Macbeth to have him act the way he did throughout the play. The witches at the beginning of the play told him his future which only made him want more. Also, his best friend Banquo was another influence on how Macbeth treated him and his son. But Lady Macbeth was probably the biggest influence on how Macbeth treated everyone. When Macbeth proposed a plan to try and kill the king his wife loved the idea. She went so far as to ask the devil to fill her up with things that would help her make her husband do this horrible deed. It can be argued that Lady Macbeth has a huge impact on the story or if she did not need to be in the play. Lady Macbeth played a huge role in the play, especially with the way she influenced Macbeth in killing the king. Lady Macbeth played a huge role in the play as being a supporting actress. She needed to be in the play to help Macbeth out and make it seem like it was both of them that were evil and not just him. Even though it was evil of him to want to kill the king, she was the one that told him to kill the king for her best interest. It is also believed that if she was not in the play, then it would have been bad for Shakespeare. It would not have been one of his best playwrights. In some ways the title could be changed from “The Tragedy of Macbeth” to The Tragic fall of the Macbeths. If it was changed to this, then it would make more sense because they are both affected by everything that happened. Macbeth is not the only one that dies in the play. Because Lady Macbeth dies in the play, it should be changed and then the play would make much more
