The 9 students were kept from going in by the National Guard, forced by Gov. Faubus. Unfortunately, the students were not able to get into school that day. Every school in the nation is said to be integrated. There is no exact day said to when the nine negro students will be allowed to enter Central High School

On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks sat down in a seat that wasn’t her designated seat. As many know, she was arrested due to not giving up her seat on a bus for a white man. I find this extremely ridiculous. I feel as if any person, male or female, black or white, should be able to sit where they want. Rosa Parks had a lot of dignity to not give up that seat. I would too, in fact. It’s a seat and they shouldn’t be specified of race. Fortunately, Parks was bailed out by E.D. Nixon
The nine students who are integrating Central High School have now been identified. Gloria Ray, Carlotta Walls, and Jefferson Thomas, who attended the Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. This school was an all-black school. The other 6 students, Elizabeth Eckford, Minnijean Brown, Thelma Mothershed, Ernest Green, Melba Pattillo, and Terrence Roberts all attended Horace Mann High School. This school is in Little Rock, Arkansas as well. It is also a part of the Little Rock School
