Since the very beginning of cell phones people have been using cell phones while driving in a car. To some this may seem harmless however, recently there have been and increase in car accidents with distracted drivers because the driver was on a cell phone. In response lawmakers have made it illegal to drive while using a cell phone. This is the right response because using a cell phone while driving distracts the driver, cell phone use while driving endangers the driver of the car, the occupants of the car, and the law sends a message that using a cell phone while driving will not b tolerated. Using a cell phone puts the driver at risk of being in a wreck with another car on the road. While driving it is important to be aware of other cars on the road. However, …show more content…
The only thing the passengers can really do is scream and watch helplessly as the car collides with some other car or tree. The law preventing cell phone use while driving not only protects the driver it also protects the defenseless passengers as well. Making cellphone use illegal while driving sends a message to drivers that they will be punished if they use a cell phone while driving. The driver makes millions of choices while driving. The driver also makes a choice to use a cell phone while driving because cell phone use while driving is punishable it will make the driver think twice about picking up the cell phone and using it to call or text. This choice to not pick up the cell phone will prevent an accident from ever occurring because of the choice the driver made to not use a cell phone. Many states have outlawed the use of cell phones while driving because of the accidents that occur because the driver is distracted. This law not only protects the drivers life it protects the passengers life as well. Also it makes the driver think twice about using a cell phone when the driver can be punished for it.
