Introduction Oviposition is described as one of the final steps in reproduction in insects. It includes the deposition of mature eggs onto an object that is outside the body of the female insect (Saunders 2003). Where and how the organism oviposits depends on the behavioral aspects of different species. Another factor that can influence the oviposition of eggs involves the release of chemicals. The Diving Beetle chooses plants that have readily available food for their newly hatched young.…
Essay 1: Close Reading Blood Money Anyone with even a modicum of experience with writing has experienced the struggle of formulating an introduction and conclusion for their work. Stronger writers will ensure both the beginning and end add significance to a composition; neglecting to do so will often lead the reader to feel dissatisfied, confused, or critical. Articles are still being written about the controversial ending of the acclaimed television series The Sopranos, despite concluding nine years ago (Evans). Unlike The Sopranos, one does not need over three days total runtime for a conclusion to impact the thoughts of a consumer; similar rigor is found in the authoring of short stories.…
After completing this experiment, I reject the hypotheses that when the amount of dish soap is increased in the water and duckweed solution, there will be more fronds of duckweed because the phosphorus and nitrogen in the dish soap will cause eutrophication and increased growth in the duckweed. There was not a significant (20%or more) difference in growth in any of the jars. The expected results were that jar B would have the most growth of duckweed because it was the most concentrated with dish soap, so there was more nitrogen and phosphorus in the jar to cause eutrophication. The expected result was that with every jar that had a smaller concentration of dish soap, there would be a smaller increase in duckweed growth. The actual experiment…
Hypatía Belicia Cabral, the Walking Volcano Hypatía Belicia Cabral “the child of Apocalypse” (Diaz 251) was nice to look at, but was not easy to predict what danger she could cause when getting too close. Belicia looked so luxurious but nobody knew she had an extreme unhappy childhood. Belicia was conceived during the time that her father, Abelard Cabral, was under the pressure that Trujillo the sex maniac dictator would utilize his power to rape and destroy his golden daughter, Jackie.…
ALPACAS (VICUGNA PACOS) Appearance Alpacas, in my opinion, are very ugly creatures. What makes them ugly is their soft fleece. Although it looks ugly, the fleece is extremely soft, and highly valued. The colors of their fleece can range from pitch black to white, including brown. They kind of look like a small llama.…

I was at my grandmas when it happened so we decided the pigs should eat some grass and play in the sun for a while. “We should go outside,” Makayla said. We went outside and let the guinea pig’s in the tall green grass and then we sat on the trampoline. There is a small hill at my grandma's house so we walked over to it carrying both of the guinea pigs. When we got there we sat them down on the grass that was covering the hill, then we sat down in the dirt.…
The Funerary Monument of Flavius Agricola is a Roman marble piece by Antonine that is now on display in the Indianapolis Museum of Art. In the sculpture, Flavius Agricola is laid out in a semi relaxed position on what appears to be the lid of a coffin that has had a high back and a high side at his head and at his feet.…
