On December 7, 1941, Japan made the worst decision to carry out a surprise attack on the United States Pacific Naval Fleet at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Isoroku Yamamoto was the man who planned the attack months before the attack. Yamamoto prepared his troops by practicing on a base on an island near Japan that had many similar traits of Pearl Harbor. Also, the Japanese had spies that located the U.S.’s battleship to help give the pilots an idea of where they were all located. The Japanese plan went way better than they ever expected it to go. The next day President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan and put the U.S. into World War II.
