Eight teens die every day in drunk driving crashes. It has also been reported that one out of every ten high school students drink and drive. Teens are already at high risk when they're sober behind the wheel. Driving under the influence (DUI) is just asking for more trouble.
Teenage drunk driving is teens under the legal drinking age of 21 years old driving while intoxicated or drunk with high blood alcohol content or concentration.2 You are considered a teen from the ages of 13-19 and sometimes even 20. When you hear people refer to the term DUI it means driving under the influence. The problem with teenage drunk driving is that it is very dangerous and also increases the risk of car accidents, collisions, injuries, and vehicular deaths.

Because more teens are starting to drive we need to strike fast and get this information and point across. We can’t control teens drinking and driving because if we tell teenagers they can’t do something that will only make them rebell more and get more of an urge to do so. With that and a lot of teens don’t realize the risk of drunk driving in consideration, I propose that we have a week of awareness. That week will be completely dedicated to awareness to teenage drunk driving. This should shine a light on the dangers of not only underage drinking but also driving when intoxicated. The week would be like any spirit week and at the end there would be a sports game that also was dedicated to awareness.
