This framework is an explanatory, active and interactive type which attempts to identify and explain the issues that have caused and continue to be causative agents in the increase rates of infant mortality in the African American community. I designed two frameworks; one is symbolic of an egg. It has several layers around the fetus to protect it and increase its chances of survival.

Education, it has been found through research that when a girl receives a quality education, she will more than likely earn a decent income, raise a healthy and educated family, which will improve her family and community. Prenatal care will screen the women for her own personal health issues and for those that may affect the unborn fetus. In addition, it will allow the healthcare professionals to evaluate her possible deficiency in essential vitamins for the proper development of the fetus such as Folic acid. Folic acid is a B vitamin that is essential to prevent major neurological birth defects that could affect the brain and spinal cord. In addition, prenatal care and evaluation would give the patient information to assist with the care of the infant such as assistance with nutritional needs.
5. Health Policy, is described fully by the statement” public health in every policy”, meaning that no matter what legislation is developed or that is to be negotiated the health of the public should always be considered. Furthermore, infant mortality in the black community should most definitely be considered in legislation for homes, employment, healthcare professionals, nutrition, educational policies, and health care facilities.
6. Income and Occupation usually will determine where the mother resides. These social determinants will determine what and if the unborn child will be exposed to dangerous chemicals and dangerous persons.
7. Counseling, can come in the from a of a Nurse to explain to the mother how to bath the baby, etc. In addition, counseling with a psychotherapist or professional counselor could address self-worth and self-esteem issues for the
