“The Church believed that the reason for Pope Gregory IX's creation of the Inquisition was to bring order and legality to the process of dealing with heresy, since there had been tendencies in the mobs of townspeople to burn alleged heretics without much of a trial”. The inquisition started in Eastern Europe on 1208 to 1834. This is an age of boiling religious fervor. The holy Roman empire is determined to get rid of people who dare to oppose them and challenged the empires beliefs. Those that did oppose the empire was called heretics. During the Crusade the Catholic church tried to eliminate all non-Christians, non-believers and heretics in eastern Europe and later on in southern America. When these non-Christians and heretics are caught, they are given an unfair trial, tortured and burnt at the stake. After they are caught, tortured and burnt their wealth and land was claimed by the holy Roman empire and was used to fund the rest of the inquisition. Furthermore, during this time, innocent man, woman, and child of any age was brutally tortured and murdered because of their own religious belief. The movie Da Vinci code’s portrayal of this issue about Jesus and Marry Magdalene is on point and has matched almost every part if not all the aspects of the topic. But looking at it as an openminded person. It might be true, it might not and that everything is possible. And even if Jesus had a spouse and descendants. Marry Magdalene was a nice person and the proof the sinners can change and be forgiven. She was even later named as a saint by the church because of her deeds. Also, Jesus still did all those miracles and was crucified sacrificed his own life for humanity to pay for the sins of the world. These two topics are the two major issues and conspiracy of the Catholic church. As a person raised as Catholic it would make sense why the church would hide the truth about Jesus and Marry Magdalene. Specially, when they were finally able to unite half of the world to believe one god and one faith. As for the crusade, I still can’t believe that torturing, burning at the stake and killing kids were orders that came from the highest-ranking officials of the church specially the pope. How could somebody who calls themselves righteous followers of god can give such orders. After doing this research I still had some questions to myself and my religion but it will always go down on what a person believes or what does a person want to
