Introduction

The LEGO Group, a popular company based in Billund, Denmark, has been in the toy industry for over 80 years. The company was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen and was passed down for generations to its recent owner, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. The word 'lego' is originated from a Danish word 'Leg Godt', which in other words also means 'play well'. Lego toys are popular among kids, teenagers and even adults. Their products are sold all around the world such as Australia, Singapore and Korea. Their net profit have been steadily increasing from 2009 to 2013, from $2.2 billion to $6.1 billion, which signifies their growth over the years.

Apart from being a successful growing company, The LEGO Group is also continuously trying to reduce its impact on the environment. Expansion in a company means that there will be an increase in production. Therefore, The LEGO Group has partnered with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to reduce their carbon emission from their production and has since reduced their emission by 10%. Their products are mostly manufactured in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, China and the Czech Republic to maintain the quality of LEGO products. One of the most iconic LEGO toys is the bricks and mini figurines. They have produce over 35 different lines of LEGO, such as Harry Potter, SpongeBob, Lord of the Rings and many others. They even have a blockbuster movie, “The LEGO Movie”, that was debuted February this year, starring famous Hollywood actors such as Morgan Freeman and Liam
