Nathan, I too am a Christian. I believe that death should only come by an act of God. In the past, I had a patient who was extremely ill. This patient called me to his bedside. With tears in his eyes he said, “just unplug all these tubes and let me go”. In the case of this patient, he only needed some pain and anxiety medications to help him through a rough time. I am aware that Georgia is not a state that supports euthanasia; however, Oregon Washington, Montana and Vermont are states that does support euthanasia (Butts & Rich, 2016, p. 299). I am also aware that the ANA code of ethics does not support nurses being a part of euthanasia. The ANA code of ethics states “Nursing encompasses the protection, promotion, and restoration of health
