Kim Kardashian’s catapult into the business world and great success over the past decade makes her an ideal walking business model and one of much interest. The reasoning behind this study of Kim Kardashian is simply because her particular road to success is an uncommon one. We live in a society where certain behaviours and standards are forced upon us consciously and subconsciously. We are told that things must be done in a certain order, years of primary, secondary and tertiary education, graduate, get a job, get married, start a family and cease to exist. As a child, she resided in Calabasas, Los Angeles, California with her parents Robert and Kris along with her 3 siblings Kourtney, Khloe and Robert. Her family was well off solely due to the fact that her father was a high-profile lawyer who often worked with celebrities. This allowed Kim to have an easy upbringing and by extent life. School was never an area where Kim excelled, after graduating from high school she attended college for several weeks before she made the decision to drop out and pursue other non-academic avenues. Her first shot of fame was brought about when she was a personal stylist for socialite Paris Hilton. However, after this in 2007 Kim Kardashian was caught in the middle of a controversy, one that would change her life forever. Her then boyfriend leaked a sensitive video which gained much attention from the world. Eventually, an agreed settlement was made, earning Kim $5 million. This was just the beginning of her success. Kim Kardashian took this unfortunate circumstance and decided to capitalize on it. As a result, she gained a TV show and multiple spin off shows, various advertisements, acting jobs, music jobs, promoting jobs and clothing stores which have ultimately led to her extreme success.
