the letter stated that the Netherfield party went to London and won’t return back. The letter also contained information on Bingley and his elopement with Darcy’s sister, Georgiana. Caroline deceived Jane by giving her friendship when she was sick at Netherfield. She made Jane believe that Caroline accepted the fact that she was potentially marrying Bingley. Caroline wrote this letter to Jane to protect Bingley’s personal safety and for Caroline’s own feelings. She didn’t want Bingley to marry a woman who wasn’t as wealthy and high class as her family was. Caroline deceived Jane into thinking that she was a true friend who considered feelings, but she only cared about her own feelings. Caroline’s motives of her deception towards Jane and Elizabeth Bennet contributed and shaped the work of the novel as a whole. Caroline Bingley developed her own character throughout the novel such as jealousy, cunning, and fraudulent. She started to treat Elizabeth with respect after she married Darcy so she can still be involved with Pemberley. Caroline still deceives Elizabeth by respecting her just to be apart of Pemberley and to be closer to Darcy. Even though Caroline’s intentions was to benefit herself, she molded the novel and the main theme of the novel. Her actions made Darcy and Bingley find true love for Elizabeth and
