Research Paper Rough Draft There are several careers in the world that change people’s lives or make a difference in the world. Whether it be a Neurological Surgeon, a military soldier, teacher, so on, in some way the jobs in the world make a difference in at least someone’s life. For a surgeon, they could be the reason that someone gets to live to see another day. A military soldier could be the reason that a kid in a 3rd world country gets rescued. And a teacher can be the reason a troubled student goes on to do extraordinary things in their life. As a psychologist you can make a difference in someone’s life by helping them through traumas or everyday life struggles- changing someone’s life doesn’t necessarily have to mean that you save …show more content…
But, after the prolonged period of tiring years of school, the reward of being someone’s hero is far greater. In a year, 44, 193 will commit suicide, and of those thousands, only an estimated 400 will see a therapist. Those who sought professional help, stated that it slowly increased the well-being of their mental health. Being a psychologist obviously to some degree has helped numerous people significantly, as suicide ratings have vastly decreased since the 90’s.
Many people look upon the career of being a psychologist, and don’t really see it as a feasible career. This roots from the misconception that those who work in the field of psychology don’t make large salaries, but they are mostly incorrect. Although there are definitely other jobs out in the world that will pay more, such as a neurosurgeon, working in this field doesn’t just make you rich with money- it also makes you rich with more wisdom, knowledge, experience, and awareness of the larger issues no one really speaks upon. On average, a psychologist makes an estimate of roughly $180,000+

This paper was written in hopes that readers see the importance of psychology and just how much it helps people. It may not be the highest paying job, but it is definitely the most rewarding job in my opinion. To be a psychologist it requires a lot of mental stability and understanding, but I think that in the end it is a wonderful
