A study shows that OSA can reduce memory span and effect learning abilities.[10] Some cognitive activities that have been damaged can be reversed through effective treatment. Attention, vigilance, working memory, and executive functions were investigated using a test battery by a group of researchers. Motor coordination was tested in some of patients. There were significant differences between the control group and OSA patients, in terms of test results. OSA patients and healthy controls showed that patients with sleep apnea performed poorly on two of them memory subtests. The remaining tests scores were in the normal range.
