Both Canadian and Australian had a period dark history that about the first nation, which is aboriginal people. In the 19s century and 20s century, the government established the residential school for the first nation’s children to learn the European culture. This decision has changed many aboriginal children’s whole life; it almost kill a few generation. It is clear to see it bring first nation’s people a huge damage.

At school, they would separate the girls and boys. Even some of them were family, they almost didn’t know each other. Between these years they did not have any holidays since the 1960s, and their recreational time was a limit at night; they also had to go to sleep early. They have to strict to obey time table to do. Additionally, in the residential schools, Indian children were not allowed to speak their own language, if teachers know they broke the rule, they would get punish to stab the letters on their tough. In the school, there were many appearances gave children the negative effect. Illustrate with some example, some children were abused even got abuse from sexual, physical, emotional, and psychologic. All of these behaviors would affect child a whole life. Because of these abnormal abuses, the living environment was bad, and the medical level lag behind, many children died at the residential school. “Between 1910-1970, many Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families as a result of various government policies” This quotation proved that the government took the aboriginal children away from their home, and there were many policies for the aboriginal children. However, once those children were forced to removal from the home, they would place in a new place and forced to work as servants. Aboriginal children had to speak English and learned Northern European culture because people thought the culture was better than Australian culture. Many aboriginal people don’t know where they come, and where their home at. These children were called Stolen Generation. Many children were mixed-descent children, and it seemed as a threat for racial purity, so government led legislation to removal the aboriginal children for their parents.
