He was in favor of tax cuts and limited government spending. He took it upon himself to encourage everyone in the country to work together as he facilitated the return of the nation to normalcy after war. During his time of presidency he passed the Revenue Acts of 1921, 1924, and 1926 that reduced maritime tax rates significantly. Along with that, Calvin Coolidge vetoed bills that would increase government spending, due to the fact that he was trying to reduce it. He vetoed the Farm Relief Bill in 1927. This bill was created to provide money to the farmers that had farms that were struggling. In the end, as a result of his tax cuts, it led to the contribution of an uneven distribution of wealth and the overproduction of goods in the United States. As a result of wanting to reduce taxes for the country, it is thought that some of his laissez-faire policies contributed to the economic problems that erupted into the Great Depression following the roaring 20’s that he was primarily the president
