I as Gemma, am a former victim of bullying. It was such a hard time for me. I locked myself in my room and would make little to no communication with my family and friends. I would lie about feeling ill because I didn't want to go to school because I was so scared. But there were those days where I physically and mentally couldn't even stomach to go to school. There's a quote I once heard “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” But the truth is it's not true. No matter what we say words will always hurt us. Our school nurse would call me liar and call me hurtful things and then would tell my mom. I moved up to middle school and it got less bad but I was still called names. I then became depressed and antisocial. I had no “real” friends. I then became suicidal and I just didn't want to live. My doctor saw how depressed I was and put me on antidepressants but I rarely took them. We hear on the news about school shooting and we always ask one another why? We always go straight to saying it's because they have problems and the truth is yes. They do have problems but, not just “regular ones.” They are the victims of being bullied.
