My dad went to college but didn’t graduate on the other hand my mom stopped attending school in third grade. She grew up in El Salvador where she had to do adult things since the start of a very young age. Once my parents came here to the United States my dad worked really hard to support my brothers before I was born. I always looked up to him as there are times where he struggles with money and has hard times paying bills. Even though growing up I wasn’t involved really in his job or paying bills I knew I always wanted to work as hard as my dad has done his whole life to always find ways to provide for us. My brother had a wife that didn’t turn out to be the person he wanted to spend his life with. I would always watch them fight and argue over their daughter. She would even blame my mom at times for things that never occurred. Watching that since I was small might have made my mind set about dating change. It’s hard for me to get attached to someone now since I don’t want what happened to my brother happening to me. I make sure when I date someone they are a good person and will treat me right. I have known my best friend since I was around 5 and she had a lot of family issues. Her father was never really there for her or showed her any type of love. They would constantly fight with her mom and it affected me the way I treat my parents. I learned to appreciate them more because their are people who are less fortunate that don’t have both parents. Even though it was her family I felt like it hurt me more seeing how she wished her dad was there for her. Community shows that it can affect the way a child
