A recent study shows that the most important quality in doctors should be knowledge, experience, and good communicator, compassionate and competent (Smith; O’Donoghue, 2014). At the Children’s hospital, the staff is just that and much more. The faculty does their best by making the patients time spent there as quick and easy as possible. There is also a group of workers who come by with iPads and toys for the children to play with while at their stay at the infirmary. “Once again, we are honored by U.S. News’ recognition of the exceptional, multidisciplinary care we offer every child with cancer who walks through our doors” stated Williams, MD (2016). While having a child in a hospital can be an awfully nerve-racking and unbearable experience, the nurses and doctors stay calm and organized to their task along with keeping the parents alleviated with heaps of faith and the assertion that they are doing everything achievable to aid their child. The nurses and doctors display a substantial, significant amount of care and are exceedingly attentive to the needs of the family. According to Harvard Medical School (n.d.), the hospital has an approximation of 24,943 visits each year and the average number of surgeries they have worked on would be around 26,534. This shows that the hospital has a populous range of patients that have attended or received treatment in just one year! With a broad amount of patients checking into the hospital, there is never a shortage of staff. There are plenty of nurses and doctors that are vigilant and prepared to help ones family and fulfill their needs. The employees are remarkably dedicated and work hard to discover a cure for many children, this is why U.S. News as well as World Report ranked the Dana- Farber/ Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center the nation’s number one pediatric cancer program in 2016-17 for the third year in a row ( Boston Children’s, 2016). The president of the organization, Williams (2016) stated that “It is also testament to our commitment to research into new treatments and delivery of these treatments to our young patients” in response to the reports about being ranked number one for the third year in a row. The staff is exceedingly superior at making countless amounts of children feel comfortable, as well as providing a vast amount of attention while given treatments; as a result, this helps to make the patient’s journey as painless as possible.
