The roots of these problems could lead back to many things. In the article “Boomerang kids: What Are the Causes of Generation Y’s Growing Pains?” written by Rosie Evans, Evans explains the impact that the Boomers have had on Generation Y. The Boomer generation fears that Generation Y will be known for nothing. Most people believe that by your twenty’s, you’re supposed to have it all figured out. The baby boomers also had children at such a young age to where some didn’t get the chance to be young and enjoy life. That is not the mind set of Generation Y. We are not focused on making as much money as we possibly can because we know that stress is overwhelming. Generation Y grew up with everything given to them therefore they feel no dedication and tend not to be loyal to employers, by their constant job hopping, which means no pension is being built up for them in their old age, they are going to pay for this in the future . Baby Boomers aren't retiring as quickly as expected, theoretically speaking this would affect the development for millennials by not allowing executive positions to be available and for some this is the case however, for most it isn't. The current trend for this generation is job hopping, which doesn’t permit millennials to develop loyalty for the company and causes the company to have constant openings for jobs. This means less profitability therefore keeping salaries at a stagnant level,. This could possibly cost some millennials their dream job because employers (most of which are boomers or Gen…

Finding Neverland Growing up we have all heard the story of Peter Pan, the boy who never wanted to grow up, and Neverland, the land which allowed him to stay young forever. As young adults we have found our own Neverland, where the worry of growing up is nonexistent – and it is called college. In the article “Peter Pan goes to College” author Nathan Harden argues that Millennials and Generation Z are deferring typical adulthood responsibilities such as being economically self-sufficient and waiting longer to marry and start families. Harden builds a convincing argument by using compelling facts and statistical evidence, using credible authors and scholars to argue his main points, and attempting to create an emotional and personal connection…

Many of the older generations hate generation Y not because of who they are as people, but the changes they are causing to the society and these changes are new and people fear change. When you really think about it though, millennials aren’t the ones who are creating these new inventions, it is mostly older generations but the millennials are the ones who popularize them- so it comes off as millennials are the ones who are causing all these changes. As time progresses, technology advances and everyone wants what’s new, this isn’t a thing of the present, but has always been a part of the growing society- it is just that nowadays, technology is becoming more advanced, portable, and easier to get than it used to be in the past. We cannot solely blame millennials on their actions because they are not the only generation who uses technology excessively, slacks off at times, and gets offended easily, its everyone in this society and in this time period- we place the blame on Generation Y because they were the ones born when technology started to advance rapidly and they were able to adapt to these changes…
