Book Report On Code Talker

The novel, Code Talker, written by Joseph Bruchac was good. The book shows the perspective of World War II through Ned Begay; a Navajo Indian. It is in their beliefs that fighting in wars is an honor, so when Begay turned sixteen he lied about his age to get into the military to become a code talker for the Marines. The setting took place at many small and large islands from the U.S. all the way to Japan. This setting affects it’s characters because they had to travel a lot by ship to very hot, humid, obstacle filled islands with thousands of bugs. For example, “The next day was even hotter. We went about another ten miles and people just wore out.” The book kept me involved from beginning to end. One way that it kept me involved was that

For example, Bess wrote, “Amanda has a deep, throaty voice and is by far the more talkative of the two.” The plot of the story moves very slowly. There isn’t a lot of action in the diary, so that’s one of the things that make it move by slowly.…
