The Jews were hated by Hitler. The leader of Germany. Hitler tried everything to get rid of the Jews, and as you will see, as the war progressed, Hitler's actions got larger to hurt the Jews. The European Jews suffered greatly during the Holocaust, from the oppression by Hitler and the Nazis to the various struggles for freedom and ultimately the Allies stopping the Nazis and their Final Solution.
